[dybar'taːs], Guillaume de Salluste [dəsa'lyst], Seigneur Du B., französischer Dichter, * Montfort (bei Auch) 1544, ✝ Paris Juli 1590; stand als überzeugter Protestant während der französischen Religionskriege als Offizier im Lager des Königs von Navarra, des späteren französischen Königs Heinrich IV., und wurde von ihm mit wichtigen diplomatischen Missionen betraut. Der heidnischen Dichtung der Pléiade wollte er eine rein christliche Poesie entgegenstellen. Sein Hauptwerk ist die vom Alten Testament inspirierte »La sepmaine ou création du monde« (1578; deutsch »Erste Woche, von Erschaffung der Welt. ..«), ein Schöpfungsepos in Alexandrinern, das später auch J. Milton beeinflusste (ein zweiter Teil, »La seconde semaine«, deutsch »Die andere Woche«, blieb unvollendet).
